2017-2018 Instructional CalendarThis calendar has been agreed to by SRTA's, SRCS's, and CSEA's bargaining teams. It has also been ratified by SRTA members. It still needs to be ratified by the School Board and by CSEA members. It would be unlikely for either of them to vote it down, but it is possible.

SRTA secured a 7.2% salary increase and $2500 a year for health care for 2015-2016.
Class Size Overages
SRTA encourages members to fill out class size overage claims if you have more students than you are supposed to have. Art 14 of our contract spells out the limits. According to Art 14, secondary limits are set at 165 kids per day (185 for PE), and elementary class sizes are set at 32 kids per day. Teachers get $10 a day for every kid over the limit, even if the kid is absent, but you have to be proactive and fill out the byzantine form to get the money.

SRTA Members Vote Yes on Adjunct Duty/Staff Meetings MOU and 2016-2017 Calendar
SRTA approved the 2016-17 school calendar. Your participation in the calendar survey was imperative.
SRTA also approved an MOU for adjunct duty and staff meetings. The agreement was modeled after the two-year agreement that sunsetted last July.
The new agreement gives more power to the now named "Article 6" now charged with negotiating duties and hours for adjunct duy and also consulting on staff meeting agendas. To learn more about your site's Article 6 committee, please talk to your site rep.
This MOU expires on July 1, 2016. SRTA and SRCS have agreed to bargain this item again this spring with an eye to putting permanent language into the contract.
