SRTA and SRCS met at the table on Thursday, Jan. 10th.
Minor differences are being ironed out in Article 9: Evaluations and Article 13: Transfers and Reassignments. Those articles should be concluded soon.
SRTA presented our response to Article 6: Hours and Days of Employment. The District’s Article 6 proposal was a complete rewrite of the important improvements to our working conditions around meetings and adjunct duties that we negotiated just slightly more than one year ago. SRTA felt that most of the proposal was a non-starter; the overall impression was SRCS wants more control over our time, and wants us to do more for less compensation. More meetings, more student supervision, double the adjunct duty (which would add more than one day’s worth of unpaid work), cut the two PD days (1.2% paycut), possible loss of prep time, and a possibility of a required one hour, unpaid, every day after school for IEPs, SSTs and 504 meetings. SRTA’s full response document is below.
SRTA and SRCS will meet at the table Wednesday, Jan. 16. Please wear Blue and Gold in support of our negotiating team’s efforts this day. SRCS will respond to our proposals for Article 16: Compensation as well as Article 14: Class Size.
