CTA Good Teaching Conference 2018

SRTA Supports Our New Educators' Attendance

SRCS is willing to send ten (10) New Educators (with less than 10 years experience) to the CTA Good Teaching Conference at the Fairmont in San Jose on February 2 - 4, 2018.

This conference is designed to support excellent teaching and learning practices for classroom teachers, offering a variety of diverse workshops in curriculum content areas for K-12 teachers, as well as time to network and share ideas with colleagues and experts in the field.

New Tentative Agreement Signed!

Today SRTA signed a new tentative agreement with SRCS!

Major points of the new TA:​
  • Closes the 2016-2017 contract.
  • Increases on the salary schedule:
    • 1% on the salary schedule starting January 1, 2018
    • 1.5% on the salary schedule for 2018-2019 starting January 1, 2019 (updated 9:47pm to include start date)
  • Increases to health benefits:
    • $1,400 for 2017-2018
    • An additional $1,400 for 2018-2019
This is a total of 2.5% salary ON SCHEDULE over the next two years and brings health care benefits to a total of $5,300.
  • Two PD days each year, 2017-18 and 2018-19.
  • A revised Adjunct Duty and Meeting MOU will become part of the contract if the TA is ratified. (edited for clarity 12/11)
  • A Special Education committee will negotiate caseloads.
  • Designated Hourly teachers moved onto the salary schedule as of January 1, 2018.

A forum will be held Thursday, December 14th at 4pm at the CTA Offices.

Ratification Vote 

The ratification vote has been scheduled and will be run via personal email.

The ratification vote will run from Thursday, December 14th 10am through Thursday, December 21st at 4pm. Results will be published as soon as possible.
